Good to see another Kiwi on here, Chur bro. I'm London based too.
Your car is quite well known here. I first spotted it in 2013 at Brooklands. Turned up to the Spring Rotor show and took home the prize for best 1st Gen. It's probably the closest to a councours condition RX7 that I had seen at that time.
The guy had just purchased it and paid all the money for it too (around £8500 which was BIG money back then). It's passed thru a few hands since then, mainly dealers I think.
The last I saw, it had sustained light damage being unloaded off a trailer to it's new owner and ended up on EBay. I hope that it has held up well over the last six years.
Here it is at Brooklands before winning the award

Thanks guys. I must say I’m starting to fantasise about driving up north in the RX during the kiwi summer...might have to settle for a drive to Cornwall on a dry weekend. I’m loving reading the forum. If anyone knows where I can get some OEM (or OEM style) FB mudflaps do let me know.
Please read your PM Richard!

Ohh err. Shiny OEM mudflaps. Almost impossible to find, especially in that sort of condition!

I bought the car off eBay. When I went and saw it I couldn’t believe what good condition it was in, even with the damage. I took it to Jason at Super7 Autos and he and the team did a great job with the repair and bumper reseat, it really is fantastic work. I’m hoping to one day take it back to NZ with me. I have had work done to it to keep it original and get it running sweet. I drove it to Winchester in the weekend and it didn’t miss a beat. Sorry for the delayed reply, I didn’t realise there was a 2nd page
P.S I have the 2013 Brooklands trophy next to my bed. I’m not sure the car is concourse anymore but it’s in very good order.

Who’s getting back on the road? I drove to the Lake District when lockdown restrictions were eased, 13.5 hours on the road, the longest I’ve spent on the road in a series 3 RX7 since 2002! And I don’t belong to AA! You live by the sword... It also reminded me of driving up and down the North Island of New Zealand in my black series 2 in the 90s, for those 13.5 hours I recaptured my youth. My back is still sore though, and I cramped up

. The thought of driving again has helped me through lockdown and joblessness. I hope everyone is well.

Yeah parts of the Lake District could be in Nz. The weather report was way off, it said possible light showers and then rained for a good 2 hours. The car ran sweet though. I want to do a long drive back to Scotland to where the car was first sold in 1986. You just have to treat it well and trust that little 12a will run forever
