The air box mod isn't particularly common these days although I did do it on my car.... the idea being that the inlet horn on the airbox restricts the airflow so to help the engine breath, people open up holes in the side of the airbox.... how much difference it actually makes is difficult to quantify and you do lose any benefit of the ducted warm air from the exhaust manifold to aid cold running.
Re. parts....... for re-commissioning parts such as brake and clutch cylinders, brake caliper rebuild kits, gaskets etc then Rockauto is best.
For parts such as interior door handles then ebay UK or ebay US or Ebay Aus or stick up a wanted post on the forum.
5 years ago rusted out complete but rusted out parts cars were available for a couple of hundred quid and were very common but the supply seems to have dried up now. Back then though a few of us did buy a few breakers and stockpiled a few spares so a wanted post might get you a hard to find part from someone elses stash. We do try to help each other on here if possible.... there aren't many 1st gen owners / enthusiasts in the Uk so we tend to stick together!
Has your door handle snapped or has the rod come off?

Snapped i'm afraid, Cool i use Rockautos for my S2000 spares, i'm starting to realize how short the supply of spares is after having a quick hunt around

Hi Ray, Welcome.
Yeh, YNC is known to us.....it first appeared in Aberdeenshire in 2008, when I think it had some restoration work. Then it was in Shropshire in 2011 & 2012. The owner there (Jim) was after an alternator last I heard. Also he was thinking about an engine upgrade to a 13B or possibly an Elford conversion. (Standard engine is a 12A if you didn't know).
Hope that helps.
