engine back in, but will not start.spins over nice with nice pulses, nice spark, but no.. plugs are oily from rebuild vas and assembly oil. spun over with no plugs to clean out . put in new plugs, but no start, pulled plugs, but they dont seam to be wet with fuel, switced of and carb spat fuel out of overflow . i dont think fuel is getting in, or something else, dont know anymore, dispondent mont.

got it started today, put some oil in lower plug holes.[ must be compression isues] had to shut it down ,had oil leaking. repaired leak, but will not start again. will try towing it next, hope the compression comes up when its been running for a while,

If it's any consolation I've just been going through similar issues with my rebuild. A combination of half-bridgeport, carbon apex seals (these dont seal as well at low revs) and lapped plates seems to have resulted in low compression for the first startup. After much head scratching and cursing I used some oil with high viscosity in each rotor and I've been able to get it to run. It sounds fine and compression is getting better with a bit of "run time" but like you I have had some oil leaks to attend to so haven't been able to run it in just yet. I have been recording compression readings for each rotor on each start and it is getting much better every time.

3mm carbon apex seals won't be causing too much of an issue. My 6mm carbons didn't.

How much have you advanced the ignition? You'll need to advance it some and raise the idle speed.

very frustrating after hours of cleaning and building, i dont suppose having to use , used housings has helped me. but building a 12a you dont get much choice, keeping my fingers crossed,

it goes on and on, had it running a few times, rad leaked, fixed rad, started, rad leaked. tore out rad, got yet another ally rad, mutch bigger and better. started got hot rad pissed. conclusion faulty brand new thermostat. i will put the old one back and try again. will i be on the road for summer, watch this space
