the rotary exhaust is hotter due to the continued fuel burn in the header, the exhaust port / mounting area on the rotor housing will be hotter due to radiation of heat in the bay and thermal transfer through the metal in turn making the coolant a higher temp / increase in temp quicker thats kind of were ive got with my understanding of the cooling system but i may be way off wouldnt be the first time ! .fez
