Hi Ruby.
Last week I was at your nearby.
I was at a friend who also has many rx and has.
These are totally restored and as new he lives in Bilzen.
I have a body charged to a fc after this goes like mold.
On the way back home I have a fb 85 bought this stood in Weert so also near you.
I have many components so you can email me if you are looking for.
For welding work you can at Rudi in Bilzen.
This is a craftsman first class.
I hope within a short mail.

And about the tyres if i use the size i'm using now the speedometre won't be correct am i right?

Speedometer should still be about right because tyre height is still more or less the same ('60' profile) and the wheel size is still 14". I wouldn't think you will see any difference in km per hour or total km.

My concern here in UK is that if tyres are not 205 width then they are not Mazda standard, so = modification.

well maybe your right but i always figured that the 60 stands for 60% of the witdh of the tyre so then it would change but maybe since the speedometer gets it´s signal from the gearbox it doesn´t matter ( correct if i´m wrong do )

You're actually partially correct, 60 is indeed 60% of the width of the tyre which makes the height of the wall of the tire. As long as the total height of you're wheel (tire and rim) stays the same, you're speedo will give you the same reading. This is why you need low wall tires if you use larger rims. For example my FC originally was equipped with 205/60 15inch, now I have 255/35 18inch on the rear axle.
This being said, my FB still has the original rims and size tires but my speedo is over optimistic, for example when I'm doing 150kmph on the the speedo the speedo is actually reading 125!
I know Belgium is pretty tough regarding changing anything on your car though.
If you like there's also a pretty active forum in the Netherlands, although there are some problems with that forum at this time. I will let you know when this has been solved.

Difference with 185/60 - 14 rolling distance to 205/60 - 14 is about 1% or 2%. So I don't think you'll see any difference.
The speedo does indeed drive from gearbox so the rolling distance of the tyre tread per revolution of the back wheels is important for the speedo.

Anyway, glad you seem to know what's what with the wheels.

Thx for the help if it's only gonna be 1 or 2% it indeed doesn't really matter i'op just get some good used tyres for getting it on the road

2.46% to be absolutely accurate. A 185/60 - 14 tyre travels 2.46% less distance than a 205/60 - 14 per revolution.

And that is assuming tyres are both new or both old.

(I've come back from the pub and done this calculation with 3.5 pints of beer on board.......not bad eh)?
