Lovely colour That Tailblazer panel is bonkers, especially now it's all lighty-uppy I have to say I preferred the Cartech logo to the Porsche Turbo one though

I'mmm a, I'ma sooo embarassed. What was I thinking slapping on that Porsche Turbo badge. All I can say in my defense is that way back when I installed the Cartech system, it was my first turbo car. Until I bought an Audi Allroad - after I rechipped that car I learned what a real modern turbo can do!

Here's a not particularly photogenic shot of the engine bay. What you can't see: under driven dual pulley water pump/alternator belts, oil pan baffle plate, Racing Beat oil pressure regulator, Fc front oil cooler (beehive still working), Toxico Illumina struts, Cartech manifold and turbo.

The strut tower brace was made locally in the Toronto area by the infamous CP Racing company. Infamous because several people never got their products, at best I guess they were inadvertently scammed when the company died. I met the proprietor a few times and was on the cusp of having him do some exhaust work for me but he never called back, most serendipitous!

The IHI suffers from insufficient oil cooling so I thought I'd maximize its life with extra oil rads. The direct fire should theoretically be a better ignition system, but I bet it makes no difference on the dyno.

I beg to differ: A stronger spark will always burn the mix better, in turn cleaning up the exhaust, dropping fuel consumption and adding power. However large or small these gains may be, they are gains all the same. At the very least, you have eliminated a second lead, a carbon to steel contact and an air gap in the path from coil to plug. Of course if the ignition system is in 100% perfect working order then gains are likely to be slim, but Im sure it would only take a few sparks through the Diz rotor and cap to start to degrade this.

I agree! If you read in between the lines of what I wrote I hope that comes across. I just don't think a dyno would be sensitive enough to register the power output improvement.
