Really nice to see some bikes too...I was on 2 wheels long before I had 4 under me...a lover of 2 strokes myself too, had a few Suzi GTs (though not a kettle, I had nowt bigger than a 250) although I preferred my Kawasaki Zs

Some great pics...I missed out this year as I had a car in for a 2 day detail. I'll be going next year for sure

OK, last few pics for you then. How about some bikes for a change of pace? Not many there, but the ones that were bear a bit of scrutiny. Some sort of CBX1000 owners club had brought along a selection of Honda's daft but amazing six-cylinder behemoth
hahahhha it was a combination of way to many beers after work and predictive text in the ipad
Was to mean to be honest

On the subject of bikes, I'm the same, guys. Only had two wheels for a good ten years before I rediscovered cars and how nice it was having a roof and a heater lol. I love two-strokes too, I think all bikers of a certain age do. It was Elsies for me. I had a few, including a RD350LC YPVS that had been built by a local drag racer. It was like a hand grenade with the pin out, but by holy Christ, when it worked properly
... When it hit the powerband it'd either spin the wheel or wheelie (or sometimes both) and you'd better be paying attention and holding on or you were gonna be wearing the evil thing as a hat

Re: Bromley Pageant 2012
elsies...those were the days
I had an RD200DX for a while...it went to good old Stan Stephens for a tune (instruction was simple - "make it as fast as you can Stan") and it would lift the front in 4th when it hit the powerband. Stupid thing
I even had heavier wheels on it to try and weigh it down a bit...rear-sets, cut down allspeeds, clip on bars...takes me back far too many years to be healthy

Re: Bromley Pageant 2012
My two stroke experience is slightly younger than the RD generation, still he engines were no less ferocious. I remember the same old drama on my RGV250 of wet roundabout and a choice of bogging down or wheel spin and very little in between! And the stupid fast steering. I've had plenty of bikes shake their head on me at speed, but I only hit the lock stops on the RGV
2t bikes played their part in directing me to rotaries, I remember thinking 'if only there was a car engine that had the same character....'
Still I got sick of the stiff neck and aching wrists from the crippling position of the RGV, and of 20mpg from a motorbike, and that there was a bit of a design flaw with the RGV and the front spark plug is right in the line of the front wheels water spray and if you ride in the rain it'll pretty often drop onto one cylinder, so decided to sell for a 4t. Regret it sometimes, not when stuck in slow moving traffic in the rain though

YOI is the low miles car that was sold in the West Country a year or two back, before moving into London and its environs. Check out Ozzie 747.
Great to see those 50's 60's cars .....Thanks Nik. Owned or simply driven a lot of them.
My best oldtimer....Consul Mark2 Lowline 1961. Did 100 front grease nipple greasings in that car. It was required every 1000 miles.......then the chassis started rotting....woops.....too much emphasis on the mechanicals there.
A friend was 'The Man With The Big Black Velox'.... The Studebaker.....yes, yes love it......that pink cobra.....wants a 'less anal' registration to be safe round thesaways. Deepest Sheffield on a Saturday night? Nope not for me.....there be danger!
