Re: What I've done to my car this week!
Over the past couple of weeks, TWiR has had new rear shocks, new thermostat, coolant flushed and replaced, replacement indicator assemblies and lenses and a liberal application of engine cleaner so that it's not such a messy place to work next time. Also patched up the center section of the exhaust, turns out I only have two thirds of a Janspeed system... the headers and the back box. god knows what the center section is but it's the wrong diameter so does not fit too well. A combination of exhaust cement and bandage has quietened it down a bit.
Suspension bushes, front shocks and a set of springs still on the to do list...hopefully before Japfest

Re: What I've done to my car this week!
this week i've been mostly taking the offside front strut of the silver car.... I've got a pair of newly refurbed struts to go on plus I wanted to POR15 the inner wing inside the wheel arch and the inside of the strut tower which was full of cobwebs, dust and pine needles.
Had a right bloody struggle getting the strut off due to rust and frozen bolts..... I had to walk away from it and go in the house at one point..... well frustrated!!
Anyway it's off and the inner wing is now painted and drying.... I'll update the cars thread with photos when I get aound to taking some.
It's the first time I've worked on the car in weeks..... er, sort of enjoyable I suppose for the last hour..... the rest of the day was a bit of a trial... It'll be worth it in the end... I hope.

Of course it will Ian, keep at it mate, it is all worth it even though it is very frustrating at times.
I have been working on my SA again after a long while, but managed to get a lot done. Finally removed the bodged on bonnet, passenger door and most of the interior, just the dashboard and some trim pieces to come out now. thankfully the floor under the seats was solid with some slight surface rust. Engine is hopefully coming out this week as well, then the remaining door and body panels ready to prep them for painting and the body cut and welded up. Going to take a while but glad I have got most of the bits off to start the repairs. Pics coming soon

Welcome to the wonderful oddity of an English "drought" where it rains for forty days and nightssilverarrow wrote:Nothing today 'cause this weather sucks!

...still waiting for it to stop raining long enough to do my other wing mirror, poor car looks decidedly odd with one hotrod and one cricket bat
