Good detective work Vic. That IS the car.

It is on the register as having S3 wheels with S2 seats. Also notes about a running gear chnages, which would explain the mis-match of S2/S3 stuff.

It was, until very recently, taxed and on the road, so if reported stolen (and trashed somewhat in the process by the looks of it) then it all fits. Interestingly, Instagram and the auction location suggest it is in Scotland, yet the last record for it's location was Colchester in 2016 - my town, owner Matt Smith, who I made contact with at the time. I got the feeling he had bought more than he could chew and wanted to move it on. No idea what happened after my initial contact.

Apparently the thieves never got it running so weren’t able to move it. But obviously trashed the steering column and wiring harness in the process.. I’d offered to give the guy most of the parts he’d need for free but I don’t think he fancied putting the effort in to get it fixed. Shame but hopefully someone saves it !

Hey Guys,

That was my car and thank you Vic for the offer of parts!

I'd been humming and hawing on moving it on for a while and when the insurance company made an offer that was way more than I expected to get for the sale of it I couldn't say no.

i'm gutted it's in this current state but if anyone is interested in it i'd be more than happy to give all the info i've got

I had the floor and sills all re welded on it, just before I received it had an engine rebuild with a large street port, tuned by Pip Gardener and mostly polybushed now

Yeah I remember chatting to him after it got broken into, shame he let copart take it away and into the auctions rather than demand it not be written off and take a settlement and sell it on as a project, or get it repaired privately. As soon as it goes through the insurance write off route it will put a lot of people off.

I've just approved 100%polyester's first post, which would not have been visible until now.

Sounds like it could be a bargain project car for someone!

Interesting spec list if someone is looking for a modified example. Judging by the pictures it looks like it may have been displayed at one of the rotary days at Bicester Heritage. I guess its known to the club already?

Yes, Rich was at Bicester Village with that car this year, and also did a few very impressive laps of the track at JDM Combe this year too.

A pretty fair asking price for the standard of the car and the mods.

Indeed a good asking price. Shame I don't have room I could have fun taking that to track events.
