Aerial and washer queries

Yeh, kneel on the seat squab to press it down, unscrew the little philips screw from the nearside, drop the scew under the seat (not) and then pull the plastic apart.

It clips back together like some mad puzzle, but you can see when it's all back nice, properly aligned and snug.

The adjuster is under there by the way, dead simples to take up handbrake play on these cars.

The switches for the rear washer/wiper and the aerial are located to the rear of the electric window switches.

The left rear switch operates the rear washer/wiper, switching on to activate the wiper, and fully depressing the switch to operate the washer.

The right rear switch operates the aerial, switch on (forward) puts the aerial up.

Hey Lucky, I know you want this to plug your hole (oh er) but it is fully functional and someone might want a working unit.

Those switches down by the handbrake fill up with fluff and crud and general smeg. They come apart easliy (watch for springs) and clean up nicely. Always check these if you are having problems with your windows jamming.

I'd give the aerial a good home. Mine has never worked anyway, apart from the fact that it has done the usual snappy offy thing. There is power to the switch as I can hear the relay but obviously no up and down action (ooh errr!!) That is if Lucky doesn't want it......
And getting my spoiler off is a whole other matter...........

Naw, I don't need it Dave. Like I said, it's too good and rare a thing for me to waste it just plugging a hole.

What's the problem getting your spoiler off? The hardest bit I found was getting the stupid plastic clips out. You can reach all the nuts from inside the boot, but the clips are more tricky. Though I did manage to get to them all; on the nearside through the webbing in the fender where the fuel filler tube runs. On the offside I had to take the rear light out but you'd probably have to do that to swap the aerial anyway. Mind you, I've got long skinny arms lol

I had a non working aerial in the car when I bought it - I think it was original, not sure. If it didn't go in the bin, and I can find it in my box of bits, you're more than welcome to it if it will plug your hole...ooer

My maplin aerial works fine, but I'm not sure I can fit it at the correct angle and line it up with the hole in the TWR spoiler, so that will probably be coming out at some point...

I have a TWR spoiler. Marc had a quick look when it was in his workshop and he reckons that it's screwed and bonded... so that should be interesting... and I don't exactly have a spare one. A project for later on perhaps? Unless anyone has any suggestions....
