Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Was it very difficult to set the diff back up after replacing all the seals and bearings?
Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Some more cleaning done today. Took the heater and blower apart, gave them a good cleaning, replaced the foam on the airvalves, replaced the 3 small pieces of hose. Incredible how filthy the inside was of the airducts. Gave these a thorough wash with good old soapy water. Ready to go back into the car now. No more old mattress smell!

Re: Danny's RX7 FB
I spent hours trying various lengths of bars & a ex weight lifter, no go, I bought a DE Walt 18v Workshop Impact gun..........has 3 settings, cracked first attempt on 2nd setting without moving the flywheel......great tool, makes removing any nut simples.

Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Good work! Heat and my Ryobi impact gun wouldn't touch mine.
In the end I had to put a boat engine I had lying around the garage on top of the engine stand to stop it tipping over and then a big breaker bar with a 6 foot fence post on the end of it.
It came off with the sound of a gunshot.

Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Opened up the 12A last saturday...not pretty! Both rotorhousings are severely damaged. No chanse of repairing these ones. Engine is gone, some scratching on the irons as well. Because good parts for these engines are allmost impossible to find, an other solution had to be found. A freshly rebuild 13B is the obvious answer. Shame, but another 12A is out!

Re: Danny's RX7 FB
that's pretty horrible.... most 12a's are on their last legs now.... 13b is probably the way to go.
