Hi Kev,

this is the exhaust manifold gasket you need...

http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/mazd ... asket,5400

to fit the Elford stuff to a non Elford engine follow these instructions except for modifying the sump... just swap your Elford sump onto the new engine...

Well the situation is as follows.
I last saw the car in November and at the same time Tool dropped off a new engine and gear box which I bought from him.
The restorer had just moved into a new workshop and promised me he would replace the engine and gearbox, paint up the engine bay and finish the restoration quickly.
He told me his rental was £2k a month and had to turn over a lot of work so he needed it done.
So I had my hip replaced at the end of March and couldn't chase him as much as I would have.
So a couple of weeks ago I drove to his workshop and surprised him.
Whilst there I got him to sign an agreement saying if it wasn't finished by 30th June 2018 I could remove it from his premises without paying another penny.
I hope that it is the end of this saga.
In the meantime I have had a tattoo done on my forehead saying 'mug'

So here's the latest.

Couldn't get him to reply to my calls and messages so I went to the yard.
Last time i was there my car was being stored in a container as he had been thrown out of his workshop and all his vehicles were in an open yard.
So i turned up this time and the containers were gone. I was told my car was under a tarp by someone in the adjacent yard.
This guy also told me that he thought his vehicles were going to be impounded as he hadn't paid his rent and the landlord was suing him.
Apparently he has hasn't been seen at the yard since early August.
I am starting legal action to try and recover my kidnapped vehicle.
There are loads of parts that I have given him for the restoration but i have no doubt they will not be with the car so I have to try and recover them some how.
Never thought it could get this bad   :x
Still he has only had it for 2 years and 9 months

If it comes to proving your case for ownership and delays in restoration you could print off all of this thread and give to the administrators.
I'm sure there's plenty on here will vouch for it being a true Saga.

Kev.....you must take control of this situation. If you rely on the legal system it will never end until you have run out of funds.
Find out where it is and recover it now by any means possible. Get your sons to help and any one else you can....if you do not do this now I fear you will not see her again, it may already be too late :(

Absolutely spot on advice there from Pete... if you can see the car, get it loaded up and take possession of it now then if needs be go the legal route for the spares and parts... if you rely purely on legal procedures you can kiss the car goodbye. Don't give anyone notice of what you intend to do, just turn up with a trailer or recovery truck, load it up and get it out of there.

Hi threesevens/kev,

Can I ask why you didn't collect in 2017? Is there some details missing from the thread?

Also what was the original timeframe given?

Rich
