Center console storage - lid issues

I have accidentally dislodged the lid from the center console box at the pivot point. However, I cannot see how it was attached in the first place.

Has anyone taken one apart or managed to repair this? I guess I could fit a hinge as a last resort.

Hmm. I've gone back thru my PM folder but can't see anything. That doesn't mean much though. Will consult my spares department.

Such a flimsy thing. The pivot point is the weak link and it only takes a little accidental lateral force to bugger it up.

The little internal spring setup is interesting and laughable at the same time.

They are extremely flimsy.

Many people have adapted universal hinges which are commonly available at hardware stores.

Or, you could buy this repro item if Phils Rotary ships to UK. Otherwise I might be able to help you out myself.
