Thinking of getting into rotary.

Mint as in Concourse ready with very little TLC? £5/6k would be my best guess.
An easy project with little or no welding and an MOT say £3.5k
A runner but some small repair welding needed £2k
A big resto project £0.5/1k

They're my best guesses in a rising market.

it's supply that's the problem..... there are a few 5K plus cars being advertised but these are mostly speculative dealers chancing their arm and the cars condition doesn't really equate to condition 1 cars..... and enthusiasts like the guys on here who have some top condition cars seldom sell them.

There is one for sale locally that needs a total rebuild. Welding wise at least the rh rear sill and most likely more.

It is complete though and lots of the areas I thought it would be gone seem fine.

And it's £1k so I could budget another £5k for the resto. I'm happy with all mechanical aspect but usually leave welding to the pros.

I'll dig a few pics out and see what you all think.

I was under that impression too. It would be a full resto, strip back to the bare shell, weld and reasemble. It would take one to two years and cost me over £5k plus the car at a grand.

It would be a good way to learn the machine but ideally I'd like a good shell start with.

I agree with Ian, It has been standing for 14 yrs
Judging by the debris in the engine bay & the perished window rubbers I would guess it has been outside for a good part of them.
I do not think £5k would go very far!
It is good to see several before you buy, it is imperative that you have a look underneath & under the carpets etc.
That looks like a parts car, SU setup would be interesting though

reportedly they added a good few HP and improved mpg...... only what I read though, no first hand experience although my 12a turbo runs a single SU and that fuels it fine so a SU per rotor should fuel it no problem

it's a HME carb 1 3/4 HIF .. nothing special and the business still open in Coventry if needing restored
