Headlight motors.... relay or not?
anyone know if the headlight lift and drop function is controlled by a relay and if so, where it is?

thanks Martin.... that one's for a FD but I'm presuming the FB will have a similar item somewhere.... I've got a box full of FB relays but it's difficult to identify them once they are off the car.

Re: Headlight motors.... relay or not?
I'm away abroad at the moment Ian or I'd get under the bonnet. Also I didn't pack my Haynes diagrams......dooooh!
But if you remember the thread about Mello Yello getting it's headlight upgrade when it lived at Santa Pod:-
I'm vaguely remembering that when it went up in power above 60 watt bulbs it had to be relayed. So that makes me think it didn't have a relay (or relays) before.
Also I've had a quick look at wiring diagrams on here (very difficult with slow as snail downloads). It seems to be direct wiring as suspected.

Re: Headlight motors.... relay or not?
It looks like the motors are directly powered. They have inbuilt limit/control switches but nothing shown external that I can see.
So I would assume direct wiring with no relay.
