Wait.....Yes the Wirral is dear to us but only 3 cars noted there in my Reggie. No Turdboxes so far. (Cliff might disagree?)

Need full and final details please.....and pics and tyre tread pattern before any consideration can be given.

Only joking, sorry no bumper but there is a breaker's list on here matey.

Oh and welcome....Codge (Dave).

Have uploaded a pic of the beastie.

Nice to find a Gen 1 specific club! There are about 18 80/81 registered/SORN'd Rx's on the 'How many left' website and I reckon most of them are Gen 1 Series 1.5 facelifted ones? I have never seen another S1 on the road in the 22 years I've had mine. Seen a couple modded for drag racing at Santa Pod. My fond wish is to confirm ownership of the only Turd Brown Gen 1 in the UK, if not Europe! How proud I would be......!!!

Cheers chummy.

Hello Martin and welcome to the rx7fb forum. Dave ( Codge) records all the 1st gen RX7's in the UK and he started off the 'how many still running?' thread. He will be able to give you a bang up to date list of how many series 1 cars are still around.... not many at all. There aren't many cars in the UK that escape his attention.

Series 1 bumpers are very rare these days.... the last one I bought was direct from Mazda but that was over 24 years ago! Tim at RX Motors is your best bet.... he's got loads of 1st gen spares.
Your car is only the second S1 on this forum... the other one is the white car that you can see in the slideshow of forum members cars at the top of the page and belongs to Simon.... he currently restoring it.

Glad to have you on board. I've now removed your forum membership from 'newly registered' so your posts will show up straight away in future.

cheers,
Ian

it might be worth getting a price from Mazda.... sometimes ( although admittedly not very often) they can surprise you.

'Ploppy Poppy' I'm going to rename your car. Machinery won't run if it knows you don't like it; didn't you know that?

Anyway it does seem to be the only Indy Maroon on my Register. That's across 305 No.1st Gen cars at the moment. There's Orange ones, A Purple one, An Aubergine one and a Cherry Red one (which is the only auto box).
Dibs on here did have another one about the same time as yours went to Chorley, but we think that's long gone.

Stats at the moment across the 1st Gens are 32 x S1's, 94 x S2's and 179 x S3's. For each series it's roughly the case that only 1/3rd are runners, the others being in barns, up drives, (or around here up drives on bricks..... :D )

However for the S1's specifically, I've only 6 runners/rally cars.....so if you can get Ploppy back in use you will be in rare company indeed.

PS You really will have to let me have that Reg No' for Ploppy....Howse about a PM?

Cheers Dave.

Hi Chummy and welcome to the forum :D
Brilliant news to hear of another rex on the Wirral. I had an SA back in the 80's but she's well gone now we believe.
Haven't got a bumper but I can put you on to "Windors" Wallasey - ask for Dave. I have found them to be very helpful with parts, I have even passed onto them the catalogues in pdf format to make things even easier when researching bit and bobs.
g-l and hope to see you around occasionally g-l
