Does Weber offer air cleaners in the UK?

When Tom Walkinshaw ran 3 RX7's in the 1980 British Saloon Car Championship (and won it in 1980 and 81), the factory air box was cunningly modified to accommodate a Weber IDA (see 2.51 to 2.54 in the video) https://youtu.be/H_1479_q2RY

These days, it's either a K&N filter or Weber's own mesh fiter which slips onto the trumpet.

Picking up tomorrow so will find out what the advisory is all about.
"Offside front steering component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive" I'll have a look next time it's on a ramp.

I heven't done the full on assessment yet. It does seem to run a touch hotter than the other motor but that could be down to any of three variables. I't's not the same temp sender and it's not the same thermostat. Nor is it the same water pump but I don't think that's an issue. The main thing is that it doesn't overheat and my rather clean viscous fan still does the business.

The engine has a noticeable increase in lower end pick up which is what you'd expect from a street port and it pulls strong thru to 6K. Haven't tried more than that yet. And the front end has developed a vibration at around 75 mph which I hope is only an inner wheel weight as all the outer ones are still there. May be time to look at the ball joints otherwise.

So I've dome around 150 mainly motorway miles with a healthy dose of sitting in traffic on a reasonably hot day and all is good so far. So I took TWiR to a little car show yesterday ...

 I love how digital cameras don't pick up the mismatched, blown in paint bits and the tiny rust bubbles and the paint chips. You are most kind, Sir :) I do my best.

Regular TLC helps to keep our treasures in good condition, a little often is simpler and usually better than once every blue moon - as I say, looking good
