Who did you ask? I'm looking for some FC front lower control arm bushes of the caster control variety - the give +1/-1 deg of castor, which by my reckoning should give me an extra 8mm clearance betweent the tyre and the inner arch/liner.

Its for an FB honest! :D

I just "asked vendor a question" off the Hyperflex Ebay link. A very nice email came back from a lady named Amanda Wartes saying they want $74.15 for two sets.

So basically just $2.50 each more than Energy-Suspension direct.

The actual Energy Suspension website seems to have some caster control stuff that may be what you are talking about (?)

Just ordered two sets (one set for Simon) from Energy-SuspensionParts.com. $161 plus postage.

Ordered the red ones for a laugh. Hope it is funny....

Ramon: They definately do the castor / cambe control stuff - front and rear - how the heck does it work??

Well, Castor is the rake of the wheel compared to the strut top when looking side on to the car, and camber is the angle of the wheel in conjunction to the road when looking face on to the car.

To affect castor, we need to alter the rake. This can be achieved by moving the top of the strut forward or the bottom of the strut backwards. With the FC front suspension, there is an A shaped lower control arm connected to the bottom of the strut. There is a rear bush and a front bush, the rear bush is orientated parallel to the direction of travel, so the castor bush puts the centre hole offset to either push out or pull in, but due to the fact the front bush doesnt move, the wheel ends up moving back or forth thereby adding or removing castor.

I have purchased said bushes already, and I am advised that these give 5degrees adjustment - I expect this will pull the wheel back about 30mm in the arch which is about bang on what I need to clear! If this does in fact alter the front wheel position by that amount, there is even less reason to attempt to mount the FC front suspension without using the existing front locating holes of the original subframe - this is the biggest area of aprehension I have heard about the swap, and leaves the steering column connection as the only real negative.

Thats if it works... :D

Hi Johnnyboy,

I'm considering buying a set of these probably through ebay (just waiting for shipping costs to come through and will make a new post to see if anyone else wants some.

Just wondered if you've fitted any bushes yet (or anyone else) and what they're like.

I remember back in my mini days turning my own poly bushes and it was much better than the standard rubber ones, apart from the engine mounts which really did need the softer rubber bushes.

Thanks :)

I was overly optimistic when they arrived in customs....

It took them another 10 days to actually arrive.

However, as luck would have it, we started putting them on this afternoon!

Just done the cross axle links (Watts Linkage?) so far and it is still all in bits but will hopefully do more over the weekend so might have a report next week!

Great stuff!! Keep this thread posted with news. I'll be following closely.

I'm going to start a new thread to ask if anyone wants some (to share the postage costs).

I've a friend in Camarillo, CA who would be more than happy to ship them on to me if it works out cheaper too :)

Re: Mazda RX7 1,2 & 3 79-86 SuperPro Polyurethane Bush Kit

This is the set which I bought earlier this year and I have agreed a 15% discount for any person with the Rotary Club _ mine cost £215 delivered overnight.
The down side was that I needed to buy extra bolts and retention washers for the anti roll bar spacers which then cost a further £40.
Having completed the rear end of Goldie I can honestly say this was well worth the cost.

PS Remember the 15% discount is open to ALL!

Why Choose SuperPro Polyurethane?

SuperPro polyurethane suspension bushes are engineered like no other. They provide outstanding performance and keep components working as the manufacturer intended.

More responsive steering, greater control, improved initial turn-in and better stability are just some of the benefits that have been attributed to SuperPro bushes - all without the harshness often associated with some manufacturer's polyurethane products. This is achieved through SuperPro's unique materials technology, industry-leading engineering, development and rigorous testing.

Added to this, the low-maintenance feature of its products, increased life of adjoining components and improved tyre-wear, means that SuperPro bushes represent excellent value for money. And, as if that wasn't enough, each product is backed-up with the company's unique three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
•Improved handling and stability
•Reduced rear tyre wear
•Fits existing suspension arms without modification
•No increase in vibration and Road noise
