You'll want series 1 axles then.

it's a bit confusing but the 1st gen rx7 range was split into 3 models, the series 1 ( known as the SA) and then the series 2 followed by the series 3, both known as the FB after part of the vin number. Each subsequent model had improvements and better equipment. The only rx7 to have rear drum brakes was the series 1 SA...... all the later FB cars had discs all round so you need some half shafts off a series 1 SA. There are hardly any S1's left in the UK and I'd imagine half shafts for one are pretty worthless as there isn't any demand for them...... it's finding some that's the problem. RX Motors might help you out.... they've got loads of used spares by all accounts.

Actually - drum brakes were a feature on the base model up to 1983 in the USA. The GS added some features including rear discs, the GSL model added discs and LSD.

GSL-SE as we know was introduced in 1984 ish and added the 13b with EFi at the 'Series 3 stud pattern.

I've been studying :)

yeah, sorry, i was referring to UK cars only.... I bet the shipping costs for a pair of these from the US would make your eyes water....couldn't he just use s2 shafts and add s1 backplates? or is that not possible?

My, it is interesting how different countries had different specs.
In Canada the base model including GS had 24 spline rear axle & drum brakes up until the last year - 1985.
The GSL had 24 spline and disc brakes. All years.
The 1984 GSL - SE may have had 24 spline , 13" rims OR 26 spline and 14"rims depending on the date of manufacture.
Bottom line I have a number of drum brake 24 spline half shafts. Wonder how much to ship to the motherland.
When in doubt....hit the gas.

I instantly thought this was a request from the US hence my speil.

What stud pattern do you have? You mentioned about the Nissan front end and 114, but I was under the impression that 626 was 110 like all early Mazda. If you are going to the hassle of changing axles, maybe get a whole disc set up from an RX7? No idea what work would be needed to made it fit though ;)

Post some pics of your set up, with as much detail as possible and we can try and help.

PS: Can you add an approximate location through the CP?
