New member new to rotarys

Post by RX7SA »

Hello all,

My name is Simon and I am already a little known on here due to the car I have just bought. For those who don't know its the one being discussed at the end of the spotted section of this forum, the white SA, GTB744V. I bought the car from Rotechniks and before that it was part of a collection of about 10 cars stored for years and most likely intended for parts. But, have no fear she is in fact much better condition then that, too good to scrap anyway, and as I really don't want to see another go to the scrapper, I have her as my next project.
At this point I must say a big thanks to my incredibly understanding misses who "told" me to go ahead and buy the car. Its amazing how much these can get under your skin so quickly and after uming and ahring see convinced me that I would not be happy unless I bought her and fixed her up! SHe's right! A gen one SA has been in my "top 5 realistic wishlist" for years now as I think they are exactly what the whole RX7 experience is about, great engine, rear wheel drive, perfect balance, lightweight, driving machine, nothing fancy or compromised!
Its a big project and I will be learning as I go with much of it especially as its my first Mazda and rotary but from the amount of support available I reckon I will get through it.
I hope to get a thread with progress started soon. Watch this space.
Thanks
Simon
