26th London to Brighton Classic Car Run

Post by KiwiDave »

Happening again this year on Sunday June 1st.

Info in this link here http://classicmotorevents.co.uk/london_brighton.html

Marc and I did this last year and it was a great day. We were the only Japanese cars entered and, more importantly, the only rotary powered entries as well 8-)

Starts in Greenwich this year. For the purposes of this event, 'classic' means at least 25 years old so that means born no later than 1989 folks so that includes S4 and early S5 Rx7's (but you knew that already).

There's also a sports and kit car event which is open to all and takes a different route to the classic entries.

Anyway, more closer to the event and put this on your calendars NOW!! A chance to parade our rotary powered motoring carriages and unsettle the traditional classic fraternity!

LOL All hail the mighty morrie 'thou. That's a good choice for the run. A work colleague entered with an ex police one last year and he took his mum to share the driving!

I'll have to wait nearer the time and see what the roster at work is like. Like the idea of this, though. By the sound of it, in another three years I'll be able to do it in the FD

So I was looking into this today and turns out it costs £90 to enter.

£90!

And cos it's a rally, does that mean I need motoring event insurance?
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

It's run on public roads and it's not a competition or race. If you have an accident, then it's just a RTA. Check with your insurer though if want the proper lowdown.

As I said last year, not the cheapest event you'll ever do but It's a good chance to show our cars to a fresh audience ( and it's not the Pod).
