New member from Oz

Post by rozrx »

Hi peeps, new member from Australia. Been lurking a while and time to do an intro. Names Allan and own a 1st gen s1 Rx7 that here in Australia is known as a Daytona.

Nearing the end of a lengthy overhaul rebuild which consisted of body, driveline, interior and a few other things.

Some great info on this forum and some great cars getting around.
Any widebody 1st gens getting around ?

I'll post some pics up of my baby soon :)

Cheers Allan.

Nah it's not FRP.
The kit was a drive in drive out option back in the 80's here in Aust.

Here's a brochure from back then

They are pretty rare now in Oz with probably 40 - 60 known going around still.

Thanks for that, Allan. Never seen one before. That's one hell of an option  Most people are happy with a set of mats

Looks bloody good though, reminiscent of the GTu widebodies and such. Looks to have predicted the Turbo II hoodscoop by a few years, too

Yeh not wrong Lucky, imagine buying a new rx7 back then and then paying a further 7 grand ontop to have a Daytona. Look at the prices -

5 stud wheels?

I like how in the ad they called Myles 'The Kiwi'. I can tell you there is or was a whole load of kiwis with that imaginative nickname. Stating the obvious comes second nature apart from when they call Redheads 'Blue' :)

Nice car BTW.

Yeh 5 stud mate, running GMH (holden interceptor rims) steel wheels with custom offset.

I'll start up a project thread page showing all the mods the car has gone through for anyone interested

Cheers Allan.
