'used to own one in the past'...

i think i qualify... just!.. i owned C425TNR for a few months and drove it a couple of hundred yards (onto and off a trailer). An MOT failure, it looked quite nice but the jacking points couldnt support the weight of the car. Acquired June 2008, scrapped October 2008, but not before i liberated the engine from it (which is why i bought it).



This is the engine now in its new home...



Not running too well at the moment, i have new distributor cap, rotor arm, ht leads, clutch master and slave cylinders on order.
Im hopeing that lot will sort it out.

Welcome to the forum Norton - well we all do some strange things with our rotary powered cars so hey - why not transfer the heart and soul into another body. If that's your poison mate - just a shame it didn't go into another RX7 body really, still when you finally get you current project finished and start enjoying the performance from the adopted engine then maybe, just maybe you'll be tempted to buy another RX7 only to keep this time.

with your project and keep lucking in for some technical advise on the engine.

Are there non-rotten ones available for sale and do the few good ones left not command silly money?
I see that RX8s can be picked up quite cheaply now.

If you still need 4 seats maybe you'll have to consider buying 2 then
Alas the figures for rot free models are virtually none existent across the entire range of fb's but you can be lucky to pick up a good one and strangely at this current time, even decent 7's aren't really that expensive, this makes it a buyers market - it simply depends upon your budget and expectations. How long this will last is anybody's guess unfortunately BUT if we are all honest, we aren't really into this for the cash (although it would be very nice) it's more of a passion and I for one felt gr8 falling in luv again with these beauties. I currently have two fb's but who knows what the future will bring?

Hi Norton and welcome. Thanks for your details of the scrapper....very useful on my register.

You can find decent cars for not much money, but always expect - either that some welding has gone on already in the back arches / sills, or - expect that you're going to have to pay to get it done.
My last couple of MOT's have been straight forward with no advisories.
Any engine questions and we'll try our best.
