Hi,
I wanted to introduce myself to the forum members. I live in Australia (Perth, West Coast). Our RX7 has been in the family for 14 years, it is my wife's car and my "project"!! The car is a series 1 built May 1979, it is one of the first and few still around (as far as I can tell) Australian compliant cars. Most RX7 of that age in Australia were imported from Japan direct. It was original when we bought it and the motor died about 4 years later. We replaced it with a 13B as was recommended at the time. The motor never gave the car the character of the original 12A. The car was resprayed in 2004 just before we moved to Singapore and left it to our son to "look after" bad move --- we returned in 2010 to find the motor blown up, exterior dented, bumpers were throw away jobs, passenger seat broken etc.....I now have a new 12A under the bonnet, have replaced brakes and suspension. The car has interior ripped out at the moment and I am in the process of putting it back together with new carpet, replacement seats etc.
I have a few questions about interior removal and replacement which is one of the reasons I wanted to join the forum. Other is just to talk to like minded people who love the best car in the world!
Andrew.

Re: Hello RX7 forum
Hi Andrew, welcome to the forum
Nice to have another series 1 on the forum, they are a rare car and very desirable, especially over here in the UK.
Please post up some photos if you get a chance.
cheers,
Ian

Hi Andrew, glad to have you along! Series 1 cars are definitely the nicest of all, and it's nice to hear from someone who's had one since the beginning. That's quite an achievement, despite your son's best efforts to knacker it

Re: Hello RX7 forum
Hi Andrew.
Welcome aboard. I'm fairly new as well. I'm in York West Aus but in the city for work during the week. If you have trouble getting hold of series 1 parts I can help you out if need be.
I haven't mentioned this on the forum before but I have a few Rx7's that I have collected over the years that are mainly used as parts They are all FB's.
At last count there are 7 series 1's, 2 series 2's and 3 series 3's. The race car is a series 1 with a 12a. One of the series 1's is completely original but in
need of paint and the interior finishing. My son is restoring two series 3's at the moment. One has a 13B that he is putting together at the moment but the
other is in need of an engine. I am using one of the series 2's as a project car, rebuilding it as a convertible with a 20B. Will be more on that at a later date.
Then there is my car Bludnut, a Series 3. I have posted a few fotos of mine on here as well.
So if I can help out let me know on here and we can contact.
Cheers

Re: Hello RX7 forum
Hi Andrew, Welcome from me.
Kids Eh? Who'd have 'em?
Fortunately neither daughter has shown any interest. The youngest sat in our S3 the other day and said she was squashed up after being in her Yaris!
She thought it was primitive as well, just velour, no Sat Nav, no CD or Trip Computer, no powered sunroof......God help her in an S1!
