Thank you for your words Thomas!!! Hey, by any chance do you have a picture, or website for this expanded rubber you are referring???

Are you recommending this for fender strength???

Sorry i cannot upload any pictures in the moment. Ian will sort it out.

It´s only for sealing. So no water have any chance coming between the two panel sheet and built up any rust. The tape make it also easy to take of the fender for service.
I take some special sealing tabe it normally seals two tanks from the big washing maschines.
Keep us up to date with your car

Hey Thomas, yeah, been "offline" for a while. Haven't made much of a progress I'd say. Well, yes and no. Started to install the second skin products, quite happy about it. I'd say it's 60% installed, I was installing it myself but had some more things to do and couldn't dedicate that much time to the car. I'm 13000 kms away now, so I'll ask a friend to keep the work for me. By November last year car was almost ready to pain, but we put a pause on the road since I was not gonna be there for the painting. (I wanted to see my boy getting some color). Resuming activities in April, the guy who was going to paint it had some problems with this equipment, so I took the car to another shop. Out of this, something really good happened. Since the car was in EXTREMELY poor condition, over those 6 months, the metal absorbed the material and really really tiny wholes showed up, so more bodywork to be done, and now it is quite ready for the painting. I'll post some pictures with the second skin and the lastest look.

Very impressive work and i am interested how the noise and heat insulation product for the corvette work on the RX7 as the engine produce a lot of exhaust heat. You will got big motivation so your bodyshell will be coloured and the nice part of restore will start then Luis. Wish you good luck and good to see you are back now.

Lucky me, I found a fuel tank in Costa Rica, so I'm talking to the guy....

They insulation products are quite interesting, besides this film which is about 3 mm thick, then a spongy rug about 1.5 cm thick comes and finally the floor mat, so I must say final finish will be quite cool and quite. It's a bit heavy but completely worth!!!! Oh, the roof has a different covering since it needs to be lighter.

Will buy the front and rear bumper skin new, but they are quite expensive....

More pictures to come soon!!!!

Thanks Tomas!!!!
