I have made the same experience. So i go the long way of pain modify the nikki. Fuel injection 13B is a very good choice. But i like the simply mechanical of the carburator 12 A. Here are some pics of the Holley 6 Port 12A. Sure not a daily driver.

Hi Thomas. The manifold looks very similar to mine. The carburetor is more modern than mine. Mine dates to 1985. I changed to center hung float bowls, helped a lot. I see yours has the same. Does it have mechanical secondaries, dual accelerator pumps and 4 corner idle adjustment? What cfm rating is it. I also tried a Carter AFB 625 cfm on my car,was better, not perfect. Eventually put a BAE turbo kit on with that carb, had a lot of fun with it. Used to do a lot of street racing with it The look on the faces of guys with Camaros,Chevelles and Mustangs, some with big blocks was precious after getting whipped by a "Jap car"! Some got mad. I sold the car to one of them ,had it for a week before wrecking it on a rainy night. The way the boost came on,especially on a wet road, things could get out of hand quickly. It was definitely a dry weather car. On my current SE i'left the EGI intact, with a few mods. We use the car for fun,we take trips in it occasionally and it's very reliable and she can drive it comfortably. It has good usable power and good flat torque curve at low rpm. I am soon to change the exhaust on it and looking forward to how it changes the way it runs. Please don't mind my chatting on so,can't move around much and on a lot of pain meds, spelling may not be too good, lol.

douple bumper Holley 650 mechanical secondaries, dual accelerator pumps,2 corner idle adjustment, built in 1981. RB never built 12A intake manifold with semi port so you have also made them by yourself?

You are wrong they are no coolant passages anymore. The passages feed two hungry little periphal ports. Active it seems i am going to do what no one else do before. Building a nikki intake manifold to feed 20 mm cross ports and bridge ports with the nikki 2 x 31 mm secondaries.

Sounds very interesting Thomas, good to see you are experimenting. Are you going to separate the runners in the manifold so one runner is for each of the 4 ports? ie Nikki primary serving rotor 1 is for bridgeport, Nikki secondary serving rotor 1 is peripheral port. Or is this modification for maximum power at high revs with side bridgeport and peripheral port sharing the airflow?

Now that's an original idea Thomas. How far along on this project are you,are you doing the mods to the engine in your car,or another engine? Mike.

Hey Thomas, how did you solve the fuel flap missing rubber???

Do you know if the one in Atkins works on the FB???

Thanks buddy!!! I guess I'll be asking you a lot of questions on the restoration since I'm getting into details now.
