Yakushi Show 2020, British Motor Museum @Gaydon - Sun 26th July

Post by Casey » Mon Feb 03, 2020 2:56 pm

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: this event has now been postponed until Sunday 26 July (was 26 April). This revised date clashes with "Simply Japanese" at Beaulieu. Currently, assuming both events still go ahead, the RX-8 OC will be supporting BOTH, so people can choose which event they prefer.

The RX-8OC are kindly inviting rx7fb.com to join them on a STAND at the Yakushi Show taking place at the British Motor Museum Gaydon, on Sunday 26th July (was April).

The British Motor Museum https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/ is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British Cars; it boasts nearly 300 cars in its collection which span the classic, vintage and veteran eras.

Looks like just me then (plus a load of RX-8's ;) )

Opportunity to buy tickets for this will end very soon, to allow RX-8 OC to purchase and distribute tickets.

Gentle bump, as cutoff to buy tickets is 31 March :)

So far, the RX-8 OC stand has these cars paid up to be on the stand:

7 x RX-8's
3 x RX-7 FB's (mine, Ian Mothersole and markp's 1985 Elford Turbo)
1 x RX-7 FC
1 x RX-4
1 x MX-5 RF
1 x Mazda 6
1 x Toyota GT86
1 x Subaru Imprezza

So, 16 places paid up, with a few others indicated they are coming, but yet to pay.

Covid-19 has meant this event is currently postponed until Sunday 26 July, which clashes with Beaulieu.

Ian65 has kindly posted up here the current status of all shows mentioned on the forum:

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=4497&p=46126&hilit=yakushi#p46126

The RX-8 OC are currently deciding whether to cancel Yakuihi, or run with both Yakushi and Beaulieu. If both go ahead, I shall be going to Beaulieu, but we do have an RX-8 OC Events Team guy in Derby, and he may well decide to lead on Yakushi, especially for those closer to Gaydon.

I'll keep people posted.

The RX-8 OC have decided to support BOTH Yakushi and Simply Japanese on Sunday, 26 July, assuming they don't get cancelled by the organisers.

I confirm I plan to go to Beaulieu.

If anyone is interested in Yakushi, then you will be made most welcome by my friends in the Rx-8 OC. There is no rush to purchase a ticket yet. I will post up a deadline later in the year, when things (hopefully) start to settle down.
