1980 13BT Series 1 RX7

Post by Chud » Fri Aug 26, 2016 7:42 pm

It is with heavy heart that I have decided to sell Blackie, I just have too much on the go at the moment and I've got as far as I can with her.

For those not familiar, the build thread is here....

http://www.rx7fb.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1634

Here is the watered down version.

1980 Swiss shell, left and drive and no sunroof so pretty rare as it goes.

S4 13BT keg so low comp rotors with Oldone large streetport matched perfectly to the Garrett GT4251 turbo that spools super low.

Brand new alloy radiator and E-fan

100mm Forge intercooler

Microtech deals with the pops and bangs through 4x1000cc injectors

HKS Twin Power Ignition amp

FC Coils

Bosch 044 fuel pump direct from custom built alloy fuel tank

Custom exhaust running only one muffler

Turbosmart external waste gate with screamer

HKS boost controller

Front wheels are SSR Miglia racing -40mm offset (rare as your hat) - sporting kerb rash but still looks the business

Rear wheels are SSR Super Meshies wearing Toyo semi slicks

US spec LSD

FC S5 gearbox

Greddy lightened flywheel and clutch

Interior is stock and pretty much mint apart from missing the rear view mirror although I'm normally too busy holding on for dear life.

Currently awaiting coilovers which it will come with if they turn up or they'll get forwarded on

Dyno printout proving the 395bhp at the wheels

Please contact me on tim@sansomandstrong.co.uk or 07801 409058 to discuss money, I'm open to offers but this thing is a serious weapon and upsets 911 turbos quite regularly so smiles to pound factor is huge. I'm not sure how to price it at the moment though which I realise isn't very helpful but I'll have a serious think over the weekend.

Turns heads wherever she goes, its a sad day for me......

Oh dear Tim, that's a big decision mate, especially after all the work you've put into it.... it's so bespoke I wouldn't know how to price it either.
I know the feeling though... I'd probably sell mine if I had an engine for it.... the only thing that puts me off is that in the past they didn't sell for much so you could dip in and out of 1st gens, which is what I've done over the last 30 years... that's changing though, prices are definitely on the rise and I probably wouldn't get one as good as mine again for sensible money.
If you can't find a buyer for what you want for it, maybe it's worth long term storing it rather than cashing it in?

Cheers Ian, yeah it wasn't an easy decision as I love it so much but we'll see what happens.

Oh - and the front wheels are Jilba racing the auto correct went mad.

I've been following you build thread for some time now and it has inspired a number of the modifications I intend to make to mine further down the line. Sorry to hear you've decided to let it go. Hopefully it finds a suitable home where it will be appreciated for the beast of a car it is.
