Slow down, you're showing some of us up  nice work though, will be interested to see if you find somewhere good for metric fine fastenings.

Re: 1983 RX7 S2 - Flo

Thanks for the tips people, I've had a good look over mig-welding.co.uk which is a really good resource. I've been trying out the stitch technique on there as outlined for thin metal. Sadly I am already using gas  More welding practice ongoing. I've been trying to do a few hours here and there...

Re: 1983 RX7 S2 - Flo

Yeah, it's nice for things to start going back together for sure! If you need any pictures of specific parts of the manifold then just let me know and I'll get them up, will be a while before I'm able to get it into the chassis but as I said, if you want to try it for size on your car drop me a PM. ...

Re: 1983 RX7 S2 - Flo

Coming together well, the hard work & attention to detail all pays off in the end.......will it beready to take to RR Rides in Aug? I doubt it unfortunately! I've had quite a lot of time to spend on the '7 recently due to time between jobs but I start a new job on Monday, so back to evenings and th...

Starting to get the front end put back together, it's starting to look more like a car again! Re: 1983 RX7 S2 - Flo

Yep, it is SDR. They say it'll fit this combination of engine/turbo/chassis and so far so good - it clears the LIM and looks like there should be enough room to get the downpipe past the steering box. Quality seems OK, not 100% but good enough for the money. Will post pictures once I manage to get t...

Re: 1983 RX7 S2 - Flo

Thanks Hobbawobba, will have to see where I can lay my grubby mitts on some 1.2mm steel. The exhaust manifold and wastegate arrived yesterday from Aus and I couldn't resist giving it a trial fit: http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/tepper/08811b257cef.jpg http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/tepper/4178ee5460b...

Good save, looks great! Hopefully you'll be rewarded by the rising prices of solid examples.
