Re: KIMI 2 - 1983 Series 2

Oil cooler now with CRS to rebuild. Should take about a week to do. Cost was somewhat higher than I'd hoped, but as the guys there gave me some confidence in their workmanship - loads of great looking vintage rads to be seen - I decided to support what looks to be a good local business, rather than ...

Re: KIMI 2 - 1983 Series 2

Thanks for the advice guys. The connectors are sound, no leaks in that area. There is a slight leak somewhere in the matrix in the area near the big dent, bottom in pic below (maybe that's a clue ;) ). I'm going to try and keep things as OEM as possible, so will see if a local rad repair specialist ...

Re: New here

A warm welcome to the forum Dave, and welcome also to the "pair of FB's Club" (see my sig below :D ). I have a pair of 1983 S2's, near identical twins (and an RX-8)! My story is similar to yours. I now have one FB undergoing a snail's pace amateur resto, whilst I spend my time trying to keep the oth...

Re: KIMI 2 - 1983 Series 2

Advice please. KIMI 2's oil cooler has sprung a leak. It's not from a connector. I've yet to get it out to see the source, but I'm thinking, do I get it repaired or replaced? Does anyone know of a source for new S2 coolers and/or places to get it repaired?

Re: Japanese Auto Matsuri 2018 - 10 June, Museum of Power, Langford Essex

Thank you for popping by this afternoon Kevin - it was really to good to meet and chat to you.

I hope you get your Elford sorted out sooner rather than later. I can't imagine how frustrating it is for you to have been kept waiting so long :(

Re: Japanese Auto Matsuri 2018 - 10 June, Museum of Power, Langford Essex

It would be great to see them at Beaulieu ;) ;) Hope you sort the Oil Cooler, may be worth getting it Re-Cored? I'll certainly make sure Barry is aware of the Beaulieu event as it would be great to have a Cosmo in the line-up! I've just learned that Tim White picked up a load of FB spares recently ...

Re: Japanese Auto Matsuri 2018 - 10 June, Museum of Power, Langford Essex

I was really pleased that Bash (Barry) and his wife (Kim - I hope I remembered that right ;)) showed up with their 13b Cosmo. It was a pleasure the meet them both and have a chat about such a rare car. I think he's got a really good example in fantastic looking condition, inside and out. We found ou...

Re: Rear hatch struts - regas as good as new

Ah, I never realised the hatch should completely lift from the release without a touch? I've never had that "luxury" :D . I prefer it as it is now, requiring a slight touch to start the lift.
