Re: KIMI 2 - 1983 Series 2

Thanks Ian, good advice

Oddly enough, I was just doing some more reading up on the fuel system after finishing the filter replacement and came across this about an hour ago. I wasn't aware, until then, that there were fuel filters in there too!

Re: BEAULIEU SIMPLY JAPANESE - 28 Jul 19

Be nice to see them in a Time Line. I spoke to Chris Holmes (the RX-8OC organiser, along with me too it would now seem ;)) about this and we agreed it would be a great idea to park everyone's cars in model order  A little difficult, as we have no idea of the shape or size of the stand area...

Re: KIMI 2 - 1983 Series 2

I offered to help my friend Ian, KIMI 2's new owner, sort out an issue he was suffering with the engine cutting out at 60mph+. Ian brought the car over to my place today so we have a look-see. We suspected the fuel filter to be the culprit as I have to admit, much to my shame, that I'd omitted to ch...

Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'

 Great work, much of it sooooooo familiar, having been through the very same issues in getting my 2nd FB (KIMI 2) back on the road after the previous owner had left her standing for about 10 years.

How are you finding owning and driving your new series 3?
TBH Ian, I've not really noticed much difference in those respects so far. Still a great car to drive and very comfortable :D

Re: KIMI 3 - 1984 Series 3

Lovely day here for a run out to a local show, "Cars on the Colne", hosted by "Roman Roadsters". A wide rnage of vehicles on display and quite a few people stopped to ask questions about KIMI 3 :D

Some good progress with sorting out the inevitable list of things that need doing when you acquire an old car. Looking good

Re: KIMI 3 - 1984 Series 3

Progress report: I have had the wheels refurbished. I would have liked to have got them diamond cut but, in discussion with the technicians at the refurb company, went for silver powdercoat. Pics later.... I had already checked the brakes - fine, and diff oil - fine (clean red colour). The engine oi...
