Malcolm all of Mazdas I've owned had this facility 626s aswell as RX7s, I had it working on my last one. Wow, I never realised that! I saw it on the wiring diagram ages ago, when I was researching the "CPU" functions, but thought, like many other things in the diagrams, it was on US spec ...

Not all S1s had side mouldings from new depending on the trim level. Don’t know if it applies to uk cars but savannahs and USA cars were offered in several trim levels. James you could be right, I owned my 1st S1 in 79 and at that time they only sold one model here and they all had side mouldings
