Re: 1st Gen Register - Update September 2019

I wonder if this is one of the reasons Mazda when they announced the restoration program for RX7's they only included the fd and fc models and excluded the fb's. Here in the states prices for fb RX7's are increasing with even poor examples going for much higher prices than a few years ago. What you ...

Re: What I've done to my car this week!

Continuing on with my restoration of my 1985 RX7 GSL-SE I did the following. Replaced burned out light bulbs in the HVAC logicon so when a button is selected the light above it lights. Mazda had 9 available left in inventory in North America. Bought 5 of them. The bases on the new lights did not fit...

Re: My Fifth Seven

When trying to remove the lid maybe use interior plastic trim removal tools if you have them or can borrow them. Wedge and pry up them down between the gap between the lid and body. This will prevent you from scratching up the lid when trying to remove the lid with say a metal screw driver.

Re: My Fifth Seven

The top should just pop off with all the clips snapped loose. I believe there is a seal around the lid that prevents air from leaking in around the lid to body. I suspect the seal is stuck to the body after 40 some years. With that mileage the air cleaner lid has probable not been removed in decades...

Greetings from the United States

Just discovered this forum. The name is Joe. Just recently purchased a 1985 GSL-SE that I am going to restore/fix up. I have owned a fb rx7 on and off for the last 40 years. Bought my first one brand new in 1981. Wish I had never sold it. Live in Washington State here in the US where we drive on the...
