Re: GSL-SE in Tennessee

That looks a hundred times better already! Amazing how practical a car it suddenly seems without the back seats :? Thanks! I'm happy with how it turned out, even if I would like it match a little better... ...and yeah, I can't even imagine what kinds of kids would fit in a pair of back seats??? :sh...

Re: GSL-SE in Tennessee

More progress: - Painted the hatch surround plastic - POR-15'd the rust on the bin frame - Shampooed the hatch carpet After cleaning, I hit the rust on the bin frame with a good coat of POR-15: http://www.spannerhead.com/RX-7/hatch_por15.jpg I would have removed the frame but ended up stripping seve...

Re: GSL-SE in Tennessee

That's another thing we never got; the storage bins. All UK cars came with rear Dwarf Bucket seats. Those bins look like they would actually at least hold some sensible-sized objects judging by the framework. I've never really seen inside a set before; only seen FD ones which are worse than useless...

Re: what i found...

Jurgen did a great job. If he'd only been able to mold some custom weatherstripping for the targa panel mating areas, it would look like a completely factory mod. I think it looks great. I'd love to see an S2 or S3 with the targa, or at the very least some "pulled back" pics of the overall...

Re: what i found...

Now my question is have one of these cars ever been converted into a targa top? To answer this question belatedly, at least one has been done recently, and with some degree of success: http://www.nellump.net/peri/jurgens-homemade-first-gen-targa.html http://www.nellump.net/peri/images/Jurgens_Targa...

Re: GSL-SE in Tennessee

All UK cars were to the same spec, choice of colour that's all. Oh and there was an Elford Turbo option plus a few bolt ons from Elford. That was all approved by Mazdsa but carried out in UK to order. Our Stereo fitment on the UK Series 3 cars was a simple but good Clarion cassette player/ radio. O...

Re: GSL-SE in Tennessee

Did you not get the graphic equalizer over there? All our '84-'85 GSLs (highest-trim 12A) and GSL-SEs got 'em. I'd like mine better if the stereo actually...worked. But thanks. Yeah the guy I got the bodywork from said I could have the ventiports free! Nice of him, no? :D ...but seriously I'm ...
