Re: What I've done to my car this week!

They're not very good, it came with horrible chrome bullet style mirrors bodged onto the original base, but didn't come with the original mirror part, and I don' like the original mirrors anyway. So I bought some cheap mirrors off ebay that looked fairly "period" but more rounded and fitted them to ...

Re: What I've done to my car this week!

I'm taking my car to one of caffeine and machine's "daikoku nights" next week. Its a monthly evening meet up for japanese cars. So with that as an excuse I fitted some LED underglow lights  Yes they're tacky, but from photo's of the event, led lights are pretty popular! https://i.imgur.com/qHc5...

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings

all one colour can look ok, but I think that car on Ebay is too much with white door handles and side mirrors too. I think I prefer S2/3s with black mouldings all around intact rather than removed, but if you're going to remove them I'd paint the parts of the bumpers body colour. https://i.imgur.com...

Re: Rear end options for more power? (With UK Parts)

Well you could convert to EFI, but when you say EFI just works, thats not really true of going megasquirt. Carbs with streetability problems just comes down to tuning, same is true of EFI, its only as good as the tuning.

Either way, 13b would be a better fit for an RX7!

Re: Rear end options for more power? (With UK Parts)

what 13B NAs do you have? a 13B 6 port with a weber should be making 165-170hp. A renesis can be made to run on a weber too, again making 170 maybe more, and theyre cheap. If it was me wanting to do it on the cheap I'd just build the engine you have with as many used parts (but within spec) and run ...

Re: Rear end options for more power? (With UK Parts)

I think that's more than the going rate, but finding an S3 axle is going to be hard, that's why I suggested an Atlas, or maybe pajero or navara. Plentiful in the UK and much cheaper. I'm sure you could have an Atlas housing modified with new brackets cut and welded on and uprated shafts and LSD for ...

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings

Ok, so if the electric release was 83 only some early S2s have the key and some late S2s are electric, so this isn't a good way to identify between the series. I've learn't something new! I did wonder if it was an option. Here's an S2 which has electric release, which must be a late one. https://i.i...

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings

I've never seen an S2 with that lock in the UK, all the ones i've seen look externally the same as the S3. In the US, the S2 got the bigger fuel tank. "Fluid Capacities: Fuel tank: 14.5 gal (1979 & '80) 16.4 gal (1981 & later)" https://www.rx7.org/public/1st-gen.html I can only assume fuel cap door ...

Re: Homer - 1985 FB

yes it comes down to preference, some people think bridgeports are a good idea, some people think its a good idea on the street. For me bridge porting is just overkill for street, in the real world by the time a bridgy has finally got to the revs where it starts working, a street port would be alrea...
