Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

If the deal goes through on this Torsen I'll probably buy it no matter what. If I can pick it up for $200 and they sell for $500 minimum on ebay it shouldn't be too much of a loss either way. I guess at that point I'll pull my diff out and see what I find. No outside indicator of 26 vs 24 spli...

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

What did you get for 84-85 then? Surely not every S3 rx7 got the 13b like only our GSL-SE did. I guess the only thing I'm trying to verify is that a US 85 GS has a 26-spline. Edit: Upon review, it appears only the US even got the GSL-SE with the 13b. Which assures me that any mention of the S3 on in...

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

I've read through the LSD thread on this forum along with many others. They all mention the Series 3 rx7 as having a 26-spline axle that should mate with the 1.8L Miata diff perfectly. However, there's also some mention of people swapping to an S3 rear end for disc brakes, which has me worried. Does...

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

Finally bought rotors and bearings, waiting for that to come in so I can install it. Also have a line on a Torsen LSD out of a 1.8L Miata for around $200. From what I understand, I can drop the internals into the stock Series 3 rx7 diff housing and it's basically plug and play. Does anyone know anyt...

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

It's a 280zx Turbo. One of the guys to really introduce me to cars had a '71 240z he fully restored as a graduation present to himself, so I've a bit of a soft spot for these.

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

like ian says, the UK petrol or gas prices make a road trip very costly for us, so it's a dream to go to the states and drive a nice car a few thousand miles. like the mustang parked up behind your fb and the bike in front. Gas is fairly high here now too, but nowhere near how bad you guys have it....

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

Flew to Oregon and drove from Eugene, OR to Bloomington, IN in four days. Ended up being nearly 2,700 miles after all my stops. Essentially Eugene, Portland, Mt Hood, Boise, Jackson, Yellowstone, Cody, and then mad dash home. Averaged 29mpg over the course of the trip, with 27mpg being my lowest of ...

Re: IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

Autocross is something I enjoy, but at this point it's just a hobby and I don't intend to compete for points. This is my first reliable car in awhile, I daily drove a motorcycle as my sole transportation for the last two years. My plan basically boils down to priorities: finish up maintenance, upgra...

IN-USA New 85 FB Owner.

Hello! I'm Ben from Indiana and I've recently purchased my very first rotary. This 1985 rx7 gs had 54k on the clock when I found it in Oregon. After extensive information exchange with the owner, I agreed to fly to Eugene and pick it up. It was an interesting trip because I left and arrived on a Thu...
